Our Commitment

Dedicated to Advocating for Finance and Allied Workers’ Rights

The Finance and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) is committed to defending and advancing the rights of employees in the financial sectors of Uganda. By providing strong support and resources, we have helped countless members secure fair wages and improved working conditions.

FAWU stands out as a leader in promoting labor rights, ensuring that our members benefit from fair practices in the workplace, access to legal support, and enhanced training opportunities, thereby enhancing their overall career prospects.

Our Journey

A Legacy of Advocacy and Support

Founded in the early 2000s, the Finance and Allied Workers Union emerged as a powerful voice for workers in Uganda’s evolving financial landscape. Our commitment to protecting employees’ rights has evolved through collective bargaining, industry partnerships, and advocacy, resulting in significant labor reforms and enhanced job security within the banking, fintech, and insurance sectors.

From humble beginnings, FAWU has grown into a respected union representing thousands of employees. Our history is marked by successful campaigns that have strengthened labor laws and improved working conditions for workers across the financial services industry.

Our Mission

To advocate for workers’ rights and foster equitable labor practices across all sectors associated with finance in Uganda.

Our Values

We believe in integrity, solidarity, empowerment, and inclusive representation, striving to create a just environment for all workers in the financial sector.
